Both South William Street & Drury Street were well-known as a popular rag trade district. It was on Drury Street which most of Ireland’s textile manufacturing took place.
The street, which has now become one of Dublin’s most exclusive areas for bars & restaurants, was originally a hub of warehouses & offices all concerned with the textile industry.
The Rag Trader was once a fabric warehouse & today this unique and intimate bar takes you on a cultural and historical trip back to the days of the rag trade in Dublin.
